Abstract

Semantics is one of the sciences that examines the meanings of words based on different criteria and can explain the world as humans imagine. In this knowledge, which takes help from various sciences such as linguistics, history, sociology, etc. to examine the words, the meaning of each word or phrase with features such as perspective of meaning, dynamic and flexibility It, being an encyclopedia, and its practical principle help to explain itself accurately. The Holy Qur'an is a huge source of verbal and semantic beauty among all texts, among which imperfect verbs form a major part of the words of this divine book; Imperfect verbs are used in different meanings according to the context and situation of the text and convey different meanings to the audience. The present article has analyzed the verbal and semantic meanings of "lick" in the first 5 parts of the Holy Qur'an with the descriptive-analytical method and using library sources in order to understand the various meanings of this verb that most language learners They think that it only refers to the meaning of pure negation, to mention and explain. The most important achievements of this research is that the verb to lick has various meanings, including negation, prohibition, warning, peace and assurance Permission and Choice. In addition to paying attention to the dignity of the mentioned verb, this meaning can also be understood by paying attention to its neighboring words.
