Abstract
The book Ayoun Akhbar al-Rida (AS) by Sheikh Saduq is a Shiite narrative source that contains a multitude of Quranic references by Imam Reza (AS) in theological discussions. His era was accompanied by the emergence and spread of various theological sects, each of which, with incorrect interpretations of the Quran, The present study aims to identify and analyze the methodology of his theological arguments based on the Quran. This study is a basic-theoretical research and was conducted using the qualitative content analysis method and inductive approach. The findings of the study show that Imam Reza (AS) used eight main methods to cite the Quran in his theological arguments:
1. Interpretation and explanation of verses with a theological approach 2. Interpretation and going beyond the apparent in similar verses 3. Application and comparison of verses to doctrinal and historical examples. 4. The method of reasoning by questioning and presenting the Quran, 5. Negative reasoning and negation of incorrect perceptions, 6. Good debate and argument based on the audience's certainties. 7. Explaining the guardianship through the meanings and esoteric examples of the verses. 8. Revealing the predestined restrictions in the verses.
The results of the research show that the Quranic reasoning methods of Imam Reza (AS), while having features such as the harmony of reason and narration, attention to context and context, comprehensiveness in utilizing the verses, ethics in reasoning, and application of the Quran in life, can be an effective model for contemporary theologians and commentators in facing new theological doubts.
